Finding What Helps In Your Grief

As we continue to process our loss, we try to identify what is helpful and what is not helpful. Think of phrases that you find helpful when you hear them. For instance, if someone said to you, time heals everything, is this a helpful comment or does it make you feel angered? As a reminder it is okay to feel angered when others share their opinion, and we may snap back at them. You may not be in a place to hear this phrase, but today, reflect and ask yourself if you find it helpful. Another phrase is, you are strong, you can do this. This can be a difficult phrase to hear because again you may not be in the place to hear it or it can be helpful as it can provide encouragement for you to move forward. The phrase, I'm here for what you need, I do not know what you are feeling, but I can listen. This particular phrase is very helpful as it validates you and your feelings as well as providing you some support. Think about how this phrase can be helpful to you. Reflect today on what you may find helpful and take time to validate your feelings. ~~ Blessings, Cammie
