Grief and Overwhelmness

In the midst of our grief we can easily become overwhelmed. We find ourselves going in circles like a hamster in a ball; unable to escape our thoughts, increasing our anxiety and feeling empty, at a loss. How do we overcome this feeling?

In taking a moment to relax our mind we can begin to control the feelings we are having. Take a pause and practice a mindfulness routine. Close your eyes - what do you see, what do you hear, what do you feel, what do you smell, what do you taste?

Using this simple exercise can provide relief. If it does not work the first time, do not give up, try it again. For me I go to the beach where there are 2 Adirondack chairs, an annoying seagull on the rocks, I feel the warm sand on my toes, I hear the waves coming and going, I smell and taste the salty air. It truly helps and allows peace. Many blessings ~~ Cammie
