The holiday season has begun. In this time of joy and happiness, family gatherings, be mindful of those who have lost. They may or may not put on a brave face and that will be their choice; be present with them and do not discount their feelings. This may be their first holiday without their loved one or it may be their twentieth; it doesn't matter for this person the grief is always present and it can be more prominent at holiday times. People assume that as time passes so should the grief, but truly it does not. Help the individual make new memories, but at the same time comfort them, in what has been lost. In finding a balance, it is important to accept that someone is struggling and still finding their way to push forward; allow them to express their feelings however they can; be their support, be their comfort, be their balance. ~~ Blessings, Cammie
