Self-care is the art of loving oneself. It is an important part to ensure our healthy wellbeing. The expression of you can't pour from an empty cup is valid. How do you go through your day when you're feeling drained, tired, lacking motivation? It is difficult for sure. Self-care is not selfish, it allows us to be able to help those around us; provide a positive sense of self; it allows us to be the best version of who we are. Ask yourself what you feel like when you're tired; do you want to talk or interact with others, are you irritable and unkind without realizing you are acting this way; these are examples of when our cup is empty, and we just don't have the mental ability to do anything more. Today is the day to fill your cup; think of how you can be kind to yourself; maybe it is having a quiet morning of meditation, a walk, reading a book, taking a ride. Take sometime today, just for you; it does not have to be the whole day, just a small piece; it will add a skip to your step.
