Writing letters to our loved ones is a healing exercise that allows us to share our thoughts. It gives the opportunity to say what you need them to hear. Keeping these thoughts inside can keep you stuck and disallow you from moving forward. Saying words that you were unable to say provides a sense of closure. In my practice I always suggest this activity and to keep the letters in a separate journal. The letters tell a story, YOUR story of the love you shared.
